THE SITE
Sierra Remote Observatories is uniquely situated on the western edge of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, about 50 miles South of Yosemite National Park. SRO is unique in having excellent darkness and seeing conditions while also being relatively close to a major metropolitan area, allowing for easy access. We provide the excellent seeing conditions and infrastructure, so you can concentrate on imaging and data collection. Our site has:
