SRO is an Infrastructure Intensive Astronomical Observatory with On-Site Assistance and Technical Support:
• Knowledgeable, full-time service technicians are on-site 365 days/year.
• Owner lives on-site.
• Two hours per month of free support provided.
• Additional support can be purchased.
• We assist you with your installation or install your telescope for you, without additional charge.
• Our technicians are trained in telescope and mount repair and assembly.
• Many back-up parts are stocked on-site.
• Parts can be delivered overnight and assembled on site.
• In-house and local machining services are available.
• Crane services are available.
In Addition We Have:
• Fiber Optic internet with standard 1 Gbps full duplex.
• Dedicated fiber with higher gigabit speeds available.
• Starlink satellite internet backup.
• Site power is backed up with an on-site Generac generator.
• The site has a secure VPN firewall with systems redundancy.
• Easy access, just an hour from the Fresno Yosemite International Airport.
• Currently more than 180 telescopes on-site.
Our Site Seeing Conditions are Exceptional, with:
• 1 Arcsecond Summer and 1.2 Arcsecond Winter Seeing
• Sub-Arcsecond Peak Seeing (during Astronomical Darkness)
• Dark Skies
• 290 Clear Nights per Year and No Summer Monsoons
• Average Wind Speeds of only 1 mph
